Belako - 'Truce'
Belako continue to heighten anticipation around their international debut album with the new single ‘Truce’.
Having already established themselves well in their native Spain, this Mediterranean four-piece are looking to spread their wings further afield with their first international album ‘Plastic Drama’ only weeks away from release.
Like many bands, Belako’s plans to showcase their new material has been hindered by the current pandemic, but the Spaniards will hope that August’s Reading and Leeds Festival will be the perfect place to return to the stage and spread their noisy punk to the masses.
Belako have been upping the ante in the past few weeks ahead of the release of ‘Plastic Drama’, releasing a new single every Friday and ‘Truce’ certainly takes a turn different to what we’ve heard. Belako’s no-nonsense punk attitude is certainly peppered throughout, but ‘Truce’ is slowed right down sonically, opting for whirling guitars as the quartet explore self-love like never before.
Belako certainly delve deeper than jangly guitars, stating that ‘Truce’s is their act of resistance against ‘abuse and anxiety’. This Spanish continue to up the ante with every release and leaves little doubt that Belako will have one of the best debuts of 2020.
‘Truce’ is available now on all major streaming platforms and Belako will play Reading and Leeds Festival in August.
