Declan Mckenna continues to build hype around his long-anticipated sophomore LP with the reflective new single ‘The Key to Life On Earth’.
Despite the soloist’s young age, McKenna has had success beyond his wildest dreams, with his debut album ‘What Do You Think About the Car?’ sending him into the stratosphere. Fans have been long waiting for the follow up, only heightened by his atmospheric return ‘Beautiful Faces’.
‘The Key to Life On Earth’ is the second single from ‘Zeroes’ which is now slated to be released in August, hopefully in time for McKenna to showcase his hard work at a string of summer festivals. ‘The Key to Life On Earth’ certainly sets the psychedelic tone that we are expecting from ‘Zeroes’ but McKenna takes the emotions up a gear.
Accompanied by a brilliant music video featuring actor and McKenna doubleganger Alex Lawther, the track, like its predecessor holds the mirror up to society as it reflects on “mundanity and hostility” that we hold today. McKenna’s warped outlook on the world today once again hits it out the park for this young superstar and sets up ‘Zeroes’ to be one of the biggest, boldest records of the year.
‘The Key to Life On Earth’ is available now on all major streaming platforms and Declan McKenna will play TRNSMT Festival on July 12th.
