Eades - 'Same Guy'
The new wave quintet Eades brings some ear tight buoyancy with their new single ‘Same Guy’.
This five-piece from Leeds are certainly unique in how they’re set up, with half of the outfit also playing for Far Caspian who have found success in their own right. But the time has come for Eades to step out on their own with their tight, new wave sound.
The band’s talents both individually and collectively is on show for all to hear, utilising their trademark lo-fi approach which creates their unique sound as ‘Same Guy’ is built on layers of sample-esque guitars, quasi-disco bass and skittish rhythms.
‘Same Guy’ at its core is a “coming of age” anthem that accepts that we are all part of the cycle of growing old, the track also showcases Eades’ unique approach to music, actively using Bollywood as a sonic inspiration.
It’s refreshing to see a band being so open with their sonic palette and not discount anything to improve or differentiate their sound, this makes ‘Same Guy’ something truly unique and makes Eades one of the most exciting bands right now.
‘Same Guy’, the new single from Eades is available now on all major streaming platforms.
