Inspired #129 - WEIRDO

WEIRDO is back with a brand new track - ‘EUROTRASH’. He took a moment to talk to us about the inspiration behind the song.

Who are you top three musical inspirations?
OK so, tricky one... there's so much great music out there and so many people inspire people in cycles. For me, the ones I've kept going back to are:
Thom Yorke because... well Thom Yorke.
Burt Bacharach because no one writes hits like Burt did.
Kate Tempest for being the realest.

Is there a certain film that inspires you?
Frances McDormand stunned me in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. Best actress of the decade, no doubt.

What city do you find the most inspiring?
I really love Brighton but have a secret love for Athens. It would be a fight to the death between those!

Who is the most inspiring person to you?
There are many people who have graciously inspired my attitude and life - but I think my friend Ondrej Holy (dné). There's something superhuman about that guy, he sees things I wish I could.

What were your inspirations when writing the new single?
EUROTRASH was written a few months ago and was inspired by the current state of humanity and the world... it's an ironic outlook on what's going around us. It's also a message to people to just let go: I don't actually mean take acid with your breakfast every morning but, stop caring about news and just live.

How would you like to inspire people?
Making music, having fun and loving are the three things I bring to the world. I think this could inspire the right people at the right time - but I'm just one of many I suppose. There will be many more too.
