’Daydream’ cuts through sorrow and suffering to reflect a powerful sense of optimism, reflecting the uncertainty, solitude and sadness of the global Coronavirus Pandemic. The melancholy of piano composition paired with the wistful accordion offers a dreamy soul-searching retreat, while minimal yet dramatic electronic production propels the track forward in search of freedom.
On the ideas behind the track, the trio explains: “The Daydream we’re living right now, a sad dream we want to wake up from but we end up in it every moment. But from the other side it is dreaming for hope, a bright dream we would like to be in.”
Gian marco Castro, Matthew S and Pietro Roffi created the track while all three artists were in self-isolation with part of the profit going to charity.
