Skandipop sensation to be, SKIA, is releasing breath-taking debut EP ‘Apricot’. With a minimalistic approach and impressive songwriting, the Oslo native takes her place as the future of pop and one to watch for 2020.

Opening track ‘Lost’ and closing number ‘Apricot’ frame the EP in hazy synths, introducing SKIA’s wonderful world of silky beats and dazzling melodies. The rest follow suit, each song even more enchanting than the last and SKIA’s magnetic vocals dancing above with artistic grace and elegance.

Though the majority of the EP deals with heavier topics, standout song ‘Anyone’ marks peak catchiness, cool vocals and infectious melodies effortlessly bounce off each other creating a playful atmosphere laced with confidence – “I’m grown and I’m steady working my way ahead, I was born ready. I know and I see: I could be anyone.”

Talking about ‘Apricot’, SKIA reveals: “The overall theme of the EP is a mix of feeling confident, feeling insecure, growing up and letting go. ‘Lost’, ‘Not Anymore’ and ‘IDWTAI’ deal with the struggles of growing up and feeling lost, not knowing exactly where you’re supposed to be or what you’re supposed to do. ‘Apricot’, ‘Ferris Wheel’ and ‘Selfish’ are the classic break-up tracks. One sad, one bitter, and one accepting the loss. And then there’s ‘Anyone’, the positive track of the EP which is all about confidence and feeling good in your own body. I’m so excited to be releasing my first EP, hopefully it’ll bring some good energy to everyone in these strange times!”
