Gatlin - 'I Think About You All The Time'
Nashville based alt-indie artist Gatlin lets her guard down on murky folk-infused single, ‘i Think About You All The Time’.
The emotion is palpable on Gatlin’s ‘I Think About You All The Time’ which sees her deliver vulnerable and confessional storytelling through a folk tinged vocal, thoroughly haunted by the ghost of unrequited love. Opening with gritty and sparse reverb-drenched instrumentation, ‘I Think About You All The Time’ instantly presents itself as distorted and slightly disturbed as Gatlin explains the song is about:
” romanticizing a person who is unable to give love, wanting love from them but knowing they are incapable. The production matches my emotions - really vulnerable, chaotic and muddy."
As the track develops, it retains its emotionally heavy heart, but there’s a bounce to the production that turns the track into a lovingly crafted sad bop, laden with melancholia and melodically pleasing arrangements. ‘ I Think About You All The Time’ exudes a sorrow that washes over its listener in soothing waves of catharsis. It’s real and raw, and you can listen to it below.
