Jools - 'Spineless'
Leicester punks Jools have released ‘Spineless’ – dark, passionate and vicious.
‘Spineless’ follows Jools’ debut from last November, ‘Hysterical Starving Naked’ – a Shame inspired rocker that rolls with all the punches and spits in your face with its ferocity. Their newest single, ‘Spineless’, maintains this honest attitude, with more of a hint of IDLES and Grey Britain-era Gallows. All in all, this is a more original sounding and simply better track than their previous. The guitars still play melodic Shame-style lines, but there is also a hint of Eagulls’ first album there too. The vocals are pissed off, yet clear, and the backing vocals are the best thing about ‘Spineless’ – they sound like Vikings psyching themselves up for battle.
Jools really seem to be coming into their own and convincing all punk rock fans that they are a force to be reckoned with. We should all be looking forward to what they bring next.
