Mt. Joy – 'Death'
Indie folk outfit Mt. Joy share new single “Death” taken from their forthcoming album ‘Rearrange Us’ (June 5th) – an ode to life and everything there is to miss.
Rhythm infused guitars and bright melodies lead the track, creating a quietly joyful atmosphere that finds solace in comforting lyrics – “Feel like you’re just passing through but everyone I know loves you. Get your life right, boy, there’s so much more.”
Undisputed highlight of ‘Death’ is its soulful chorus that lifts spirits in an instant, sneaking its way into your head and digging its heals in. No doubt you’ll be singing “ooh la la la” all week. Talking about the track vocalist Matt says: "I’m not suicidal, but I think we’re constantly being reminded of our mortality and at times I’m at least aware of the peace that comes with death. I was hoping this song would remind people and myself that there are so many family members/friends here on earth that want to help us find our peace, and there really is so much beauty here, especially when you let people help you.”
