St Lundi – 'Ruin'
Twenty-two year-old producer Archie Langley aka St Lundi releases second single ‘Ruin’, a heartfelt ballad that gives Lewis Capaldi a run for his money.
The first word that comes to mind when listening to ‘Ruin’ is urgency – vocals, lyrics and sonics come together in perfect harmony creating an atmosphere that is heart-wrenching from every angle. It’s not just the words that speak, extremely emotive melodies not only compliment St Lundi’s warm vocals, they beg you to listen, so when they explode into a soaring chorus, it hits home - “This is lost if you don’t look at me. You call it love but let it ruin me. It’s not enough to be incomplete. I can’t bear the thought of losing so tell me where you see this moving, so we don’t go to ruin.”
Speaking about the song’s inspiration, Archie explains, "Miscommunication can often lead to confusion. This song is a take on how two people in love are on the brink of breaking down as a result of not doing something that seems so simple to most, talking. This story represents the moment of realisation when one pleads with the other to speak about the troubles they both face or risk letting what they have built go to ruin."
