Irish singer-songwriter April releases enchanting debut EP ‘New Conditions’, earning her a spot on the leader board for Ones to Watch in 2020.

On 4 captivating songs, April explores themes taken from her own life manifesting in stories of love and its many challenges told through her sharp, reflective lyricism. Her sound ranges from hazy, lo-fi beats (‘New Conditions’) to hauntingly beautiful piano (‘Mean It In The Morning’), all tracks finding common ground in her strikingly emotive vocals.

Standout moment on the EP is heart-breaking ballad ‘The Impossible Task of Feeling Complete’ that, though soft spoken and quiet, feels incredibly heavy. Not least because of it’s deeply personal lyrics – “Mama, please listen. Something is missing, I don’t feel the same in my skin. I wake in the evening and sleep through the morning, I feel as though I’ll never win.”

Talking about the EP April says: “I’m really excited to share my debut EP ‘New Conditions’ with the world. These are four very personal songs about the feelings and emotions that everyone can experience... mostly about love, the pain that comes with it and challenges we can all face growing up.”

With ‘New Conditions’ April has crafted a wonderful piece of music that almost feels like dreaming, floating in a different kind of universe. It’s an absolute joy to escape into April’s soothing world of sound.
