There is a new star in the sky and her name is Baby Queen. With debut single ‘Internet Religion’, this new addition to alt-pop royalty arrives in full force.

Born out of an obsession with “these identities that we cultivate online; the front stage self and the backstage self, who you actually are and who you pretend to be”, Baby Queen is the deeply personal project of London based multi-instrumentalist Bella Latham and  ‘Internet Religion’ fits right into that theme of reinventing yourself online. As Bella explains: “I hate the way that is so easy to control your identity online and you become so obsessed with who you are online and how many people are liking your pictures.”

To a backdrop of instantly catchy pop melodies, Baby Queen reflects on the toxicity of social media culture in razor sharp lyricism - “My friends own things you can’t buy but all of them are broke and most of them want to die. I’m done saving the world, so take a look at these cool shoes, take a look at me, me, me.” The track hits a nerve and Baby Queen a home run. With spitfire vocals and a big, hook heavy chorus, ‘Internet Religion’ is an anthem (period.) and an impressive introduction to an artist that we definitely haven’t heard the last of.

All hail Baby Queen.
