The Quilter - Nothing To Lose

The Quilter perfectly captures the feeling of isolation on their brand new single ‘Nothing To Lose’.

Coming from the brain of veteran Glasgow musician Stuart Dougan, The Quilter has begun to emerge as one of the city’s brightest musical prospects since its creation back in 2019. Dougan’s partnership with producer Paul Gallagher is already beginning to prove fruitful, selling out its debut show at The Hug & Pint and receiving strong support from the BBC.

Dougan has been bold with all three singles that he’s released thus far, but ‘Nothing To Lose’ really does provide some tension we haven’t seen before to highlight the current situation we all find ourselves in at present.

‘Nothing To Lose’ gets its tension from its atmospheric groove, with Dougan challenging “isolation” and overcoming “anxious uncertainty” which perfectly fits with the period of the isolation that the world finds itself in. The Quilter project continues to flex its creative muscles with each release and ‘Nothing To lose’ is its strongest and most poignant release to date.
