The Dryas - 'Boy'
The Dryas are here and ready to provide a nostalgia trip for the young adults of today with their debut single ‘Boy’.
Though a new project, people may recognise Hudd Hunter-Smith, Luke Cowie and Connor Tagg from their work with the band Native People. This is the three-piece’s first work since Native People’s last single in 2016, and they’re taking it back to basics with The Dryas.
Working out of Brighton, the trio are being ambitious with their new project. Self-producing their debut single, ‘Boy’ takes influence from the likes of LCD Soundsystem and The Strokes as Tagg gives us in an insight into the battle he constantly faces with his mental health.
The trio brilliantly kick off ‘Boy’ with a combination of synths and a heavy bass, while spouting off culturally relevant lyrics which perfectly captures the day-to-day life of a young adult in 2020. The Dryas have smashed the ambitions that they set for themselves on their debut cut and is a great start to what can be expected to a long career for the Brighton three-piece.
‘Boy’, the debut single from The Dyras is available now on all major streaming platforms.
