Autos Jaquet - 'Anthropocene'
Promising raw sounds from Canada.
From Vancouver comes a new rock n’ roll band in the form of Autos Jaquet. It was formed by brothers Andrew and Lukas McSherry following the dissolution of their previous band The Dead Zones. Their second single ‘Anthropocene’ follows Autos Jaquet’s fuzzy debut ‘3D Glasses’. It’s a garage/alternative banger, similar to the likes of Bass Drum of Death. The gnarly guitars, thundering bass and incessant jabbing drumbeats serve a wonderful musical backdrop to some very melodic and catchy vocals.
Written and recorded in January 2020 at Vancouver’s Park Sound Studios, ‘Anthropocene’ has come out at the perfect time and could not be more relevant if it tried as it’s a “nihilistic love letter to our current age and a sombre reminder of humanity’s fragile station within our environment”
