Love Ghost create their own dreamy and melodic escape from reality on ‘Outer Space’, an evocative track that opens with eerie and emotive atmospheric strings, gentle percussion and ambient guitars. Lead singer Finnegan Bell’s vocal comes in with washed out effects that creates a soothing melancholy that has his listener hanging on every sombre word as he explores the theme of “feeling like an outsider and want to escape the noise and pressure world to find some peace...even if just for a moment.”
As the track develops it expertly transitions between a, grunge driven sound that oozes a 90s rock familiarity in its tight percussive rhythm and heavy riffs, and its airy and dreamier dynamics that opens the track, before climaxing on a rollicking rocky instrumental that brings its listener back down to earth with a bang. ‘Outer Space’ is a true testament to Love Ghost’s versatility and accentuates the band’s duality in unleashing both their beautiful and beast-like nature.
