Home Counties - 'Dad Bod'

Will taking the piss out of “modern middle-class masculinity” ever stop being interesting? Home Counties suggest it won’t.

And rightly so. The Bristolian band have released their second single ‘Dad Bod’, a satirical and quirky number that calls to attention “the ‘progressive’ metropolitan man and his relationship with his relationship with middle-class privilege.”

‘Dad Bod’ follows the success of Home Counties debut single ‘Redevelopment’, and the band continue to prove their worth. The interplay between the instruments is Gang of Four-esque, and their humour and sarcasm is enhanced by the recorder melody and the hiccups in Will Harrison’s vocals. If you like Mush, you’ll love these. Home Counties have signed to Alcopop! Records and are set to release an EP in September. So keep your eyes and ears out for these, they are definitely worth your time.
