Sophie Seng shares disarming new single ‘No Place Like’ – the second track taken from her upcoming ‘Home EP’ (August 14th).

‘No Place Like’ has its own kind of magic. A hazy, jazz-infused soundscape whisks you away to a dimly lit speak-easy. A place where you are no-one, where nothing matters but sound, where the only thing you see, hear and breathe are Sophie’s intoxicating vocals. Honest and vulnerable, the gentle tone of her voice evokes nostalgia for something you can’t quite put a finger on – a place, a person, a feeling? - while emotive lyricism talks about a longing for something familiar: “I guess there’s no place like home. Thought I was ready for my own, turns out I’m not – so I give my mum a call.”

The Home EP explores the many facets of the word “home”; “from the physical location to the abstract sense of comfort and belonging”. With ‘No Place Like’, Sophie Seng has penned a song that perfectly captures the feeling of searching, of being in-between homes, and finding solace in the fact that we don’t have to do it alone.
