Punkband - 'Businessman'

“Let’s make some money then!”

Punkband are exactly that. Gritty guitars, no frills drumming and barking vocals. No bullshit. And their third single ‘Businessman’ is no different. It delivers what is on the tin – a punk anthem taking the piss out of a businessman and his futile and mediocre existence. Their approach and simplicity is similar to early Slaves, both musically and lyrically, but Punkband take the humour to the next level without being a comedy band. Lines such as: “Last night’s dinner sitting in the fridge/That fat fuck Chris better not have nicked it” will immediately put a smile on your face.

Punkband’s previous two singles ‘Elegy Written in a Tesco Carpark’ and ‘Shit or Bust’ are great, but you feel they may be relying too much on being loud and swearing a lot. However, ‘Businessman’ blends these elements with a sarcastic humour that Slaves and Sleaford Mods can do. Punkband’s best release to date, without a doubt.
