Indie-folk singer-songwriter and producer Hayden Calnin shares new single, ‘Mountain Steeps’ taken from his upcoming EP ‘Soon Forever’.
A dreamy soundscape of lush guitar lines and gentle instrumentals flows smoothly downstream while layered harmonies rise and fall with the waves. Hayden’s distinctively emotive vocals are joined by digitally processed backing vocals, making ‘Mountain Steeps’ feel almost surreal. An aspect that translates beautifully into his poetic lyricism - “Is this real life, is this a dream? I’m so in love with you. In love with me”
“Isolation from your usual environment can sometimes make your life feel like you are living in a dream,” Hayden says about the track. “I take myself on a walk or run almost every day. It’s my time to reflect on all the things happening in my life and the world over. ‘Mountain Steeps’ captures a couple of those thoughts I often find myself coming back to on those outings. Lots of self-reflection."
