Sølv - 'Heavy Weather'
London-based singer, songwriter, producer and director Sølv wants you to know that special people can offer shelter in ‘Heavy Weather’ on new single.
Warped and futuristic production sets a moody backdrop for Sølv’s, ‘Heavy Weather’, seeing her create a dark pop song that dips into alternative, electronic R&B influences. Featuring chilling layered vocals, electric gritty trap beats, brooding synths and ambient drones, ‘Heavy Weather’ wouldn’t seem out of place on a playlist in between BANKS and FKA Twigs at their most twisted, experimental and not forgetting - beautiful.
But there’s real sweetness in the lyrical theme, as ‘Heavy Weather’ becomes and ode to the uplifting people in our lives, explaining:
"Heavy Weather is about having one special person in your life who shines a light onto your darkness distracting you from your situation, surroundings and circumstances. They alone can lift your mental state and keep you grounded. I wrote, produced and recorded the song during lockdown after a couple of weeks of feeling uninspired and low due to everything going on in the world at the time. Initially I found a synth sound and instinctively played a melody which became the main hook. After that, everything just flowed and the song was written within a matter of days."
There’s no flies on Sølv who is a self-taught, self managed and unsigned artist, honing her craft from her apartment. Sølv highlights the best parts of alternative DIY pop - fluid, authentic and unavailable for creative restraints.
