Now that summer is coming to an end and it’s time to dust off the pumpkin spice, Northern Irish singer songwriter Fiona Harte gives us a first taste of autumn on stunning debut EP ‘Home Recordings’.

With a beautifully stripped back setting and raw, honest songwriting Fiona creates her own kind of magic. From gentle opener ‘Auburn’ to delicate closing number ‘What Is Loving Anymore’, the EP radiates cosy blanket vibes – the perfect record for Sunday afternoons. Despite its simple production, Fiona manages to build mesmerising worlds of sound. Intricately interwoven melodies and gentle vocals effortlessly flow into each other, forming impressively rich soundscapes as her gorgeous voice fills the empty spaces with unfiltered emotion. Dreamy piano ballad ‘Have You Ever Seen The Rain’ showcases her poetic take on lyricism. Wearing her heart on her sleeve with a jaw-dropping ease, Fiona creates intimate sceneries - “Someone told me long ago, there’s a calm before the storm. I know it’s been coming for some time.”

Good with words and light on her feet, Fiona Harte is a force to be reckoned with. Her intricate take on folk pop is the kind that needs to be experienced rather than explained, but here’s one thing we can say: ‘Home Recordings’ is an impressive debut that fuels excitement for more.
