Baby Queen – 'Raw Thoughts'
After an eventful and hugely successful 2020 that ended with the release of her critically acclaimed debut EP ‘Medicine’, pop sensation Baby Queen returns with new single ‘Raw Thoughts’.
Carried by a current of pulsating beats, ‘Raw Thoughts’ sees Baby Queen explore her innermost thoughts. Stream of consciousness verses once again highlight Bella’s poetic take on songwriting that already stood out on last year’s releases. But, as usual, she is not one to dwell on misery; a big, dynamic chorus, soaring vocals and a masterful production give the track an instantly infectious touch and make sadness feel liberating. “Go big or go home” seems to be the Baby Queen ethos and, this time, she is treating us to a giant dose of glittering synth pop. Talking about the track, Bella reveals: "‘Raw Thoughts’ is probably the most important song I've released to date because it's actually the song that catalysed what has become the sound of Baby Queen. I wrote it near the beginning of 2018 (earlier than any Baby Queen song that has been, or most likely ever will be released) and it sort of came to me like a gift from heaven.” Written whilst recovering from the hangover of a lifetime, ‘Raw Thoughts’ talks about the aftermath of a messy breakup. Bella adds: “[It’s] an amalgamation of every feeling. It's euphoria bleeding into my deep sadness. It sounds like the moment everything changes, because without my knowing it at the time, it was. This song felt like the only way to start 2021.”
Last year, Baby Queen wowed the nation with her unique charm and irresistible sound. This year, she is officially securing her place as one of the UK’s most exciting artists. And no one, no one, is going to snatch that crown away from her.
