Kings Elliot – 'Dancing Alone'

Swiss-born, London-based pop newcomer Kings Elliot navigates a relationship through the stormy waters of mental health issues on heartfelt new single ‘Dancing Alone’.

A mesmerising piano ballad, ‘Dancing Alone’ is soft and serene, an intimate look into her own struggles with borderline personality disorder and anxiety. Kings’ delicate vocals sway with heavenly melody lines. They feel vulnerable, almost fragile, like beautiful porcelain but her lyricism is soaked in unbreakable hope and deep-seated love - “falling together is better than dancing alone”. Talking about the inspiration behind the track, Kings Elliot explains: "Holding together any kind of relationship when you struggle with your mental health is immensely challenging – for you and the person involved. 'Dancing Alone' is me preparing someone for how hard it’s going to be and walking them through every step of ‘the dance’ they will have to learn in order to get through the darkest days.”

Following last year’s debut single ‘I’m Getting Tired Of Me’, ‘Dancing Alone’ showcases another facet of Kings Elliot’s heart-on-sleeve approach to music. Baring her soul and using her most personal moments to remind others of their own strength in the face of depression, she is not only a promising young artist but an important ally in the fight against loneliness.
