Introducing #191 - Le Junk
Emerging London newcomer Le Junk has just released his latest single ‘Sticky Side’ - a chunky disco fueled track with a modern twist. Merging alt-pop with electronica to create his own brand of disco-rock. He took a moment to talk to us about the new track and his music.
Hey Le Junk, you have just released your new single ‘Sticky Side’ - can you tell us what the track is about?
The track is about falling for someone that you know is bad for you.
You are based in London, what are your favorite things to do there?
It’s a pretty great city for gigs, pubs, and parks. I’m usually at one of them.
What are your key influences when it comes to your music?
I’m influenced by a lot of bass-heavy stuff like Death From Above 1979, and electronic rock people like Peaches, Can, LCD Soundsystem, Suuns to name some.
How would you describe your sound to someone who has never listened to your music before?
I’d say its mostly disco rock. It’s always good to hear how others interpret it though.
Now the track is out there, what next for you?
I’ve just started performing live for the first time as a full band, so we’ve got some exciting shows lined up into 2022, as well as releasing more music over the coming months.
