St. Peter's Dream - 'Parisian Addiction'
Reading indie-poppers St Peter’s Dream return with brand new Tarek Musa produced new single ‘Parisian Addiction’.
Hailed as Ones To Watch by BBC Introducing, Reading quartet St. Peter’s Dream have slowly been establishing a name for themselves. Their newest track, ‘Parisian Addiction’, proves that this gradually building hype is more than deserved.
The track exhibits the musical talents of the band beautifully. The drums seem to carry it, dominating the opening with a toe-tapping beat and remaining strong throughout. In the verses especially you’re presented with a gorgeous bassline, which stands out as a particular highlight. It’s the whimsy guitar riffs that take it to the next level though, adding character to solidify the clear sonic identity.
Former Spring King frontman Tarek Musa’s influence on the track is easy to pick up on. ‘Parisian Addiction’ has that drum-heavy, indie-anthem-esque quality that feels synonymous with the producer, but this only works in the band’s favour. It enhances the grand feeling of everything and makes it all the more exciting to listen to.
Layered on top of these delightful sounds are the vocals of lead singer Travis Absolom, which further complement the track. There’s a certain heartthrob quality to them - the kind that grasps your attention for the full three and a half minute run-time.
Overall, ‘Parisian Addiction’ is fun, funky, and full of energy. It’s the sort of song that could be viewed as an indie classic within the next ten years.
