Black Honey - 'Disinfect'
Black Honey share ultimate pandemic-punk anthem ‘Disinfect’ as they get ready for their sophomore album…
Surely, by now, we are all aware of the crazy premonitions the writers of The Simpsons have made since the beginning of the show… That taste of disbelief that certain scenes leave you with is certainly what Black Honey must have felt when they realised their new song ‘Disinfect’ applies so well to our “new normal”.
The absolute punk banger was conceived prior to the whole pandemic situation which is completely mind-blowing considering it hits you right where it hurts! With soaring guitars and a filthy base-line, ‘Disinfect’ is a politically-charged statement calling out society and its leaders. Although it is not directly related to the current events, every line of the song makes you react with adrenaline and (almost) anger… From “we are just a virus, addicted to the violence” referring to the clear lack of peaceful conflict resolution, to “we took a test but we could have been taught” which takes a very different meaning now we are actually taking Covid tests when we could have prevented it by putting an emphasis on education.
‘Disinfect’ is the latest single from Black Honey’s second album coming out on 19 March. With other previous singles like ‘Believer’ and ‘I Like The Way You Die’ paving the way for what’s to come, we can only expect incredibly fierce tunes that will “disinfect the disaffected”.
