The Satellite Station - 'Satellites'

The Satellite Station shares his first release of the year with compelling single, ‘Satellites’.

Through gentle waves of piano, subtle synth and acoustic guitar rings The Satellite Station’s affecting, atmospheric vocal that never fails to move its listener. ‘Satellites’ stays strong to The Satellite Station’s indie folk roots, but something about the lyrics and the vocal melody in parts of the track calls to mind Death Cab for Cutie seeing a spectacular collision of folk singer songwriter and indie pop influences.

’Satellites’ sees the vocals beautifully layer on the chorus, a rush of feeling that captures the mutual realisation that a love that once burnt bright has started to burn out. As the track develops, the ambient synth on the track becomes more prominent, setting the song aflutter with boundless emotion and celestial energy before the track, and the relationship in question, softly screeches to a place of closure. An exciting progression of sound from an artist exuding endless promise.
