Lauran Hibberd – 'How Am I Still Alive'

Lauran Hibberd returns with her anthemic new single ‘How Am I Still Alive’ featuring The Regrettes’ Lydia Night.

Big beats, bold vocals and thrashing guitars: ‘How Am I Still Alive’ sees Lauran Hibberd at her best. Joined by Lydia Night’s gorgeous, smokey vocals, she uses her signature tongue in cheek lyricism to create a slacker-pop masterpiece that perfectly sums up 2020. “‘How Am I Still Alive?’ toys with the bleakness of everyday life and makes it sound more entertaining than it actually is,” Lauran says about the track. “Michael (Cera) becomes the focus point of getting through the mundane but plays on the idea of if I actually had him, I probably wouldn’t want him anyway. That, and the everyday celebration of making it through another day pretty much sums up the last year of my life”.

Following last year’s pop-rock belter ‘Boy Bye’, ‘How Am I Still Alive’ is the second track taken from Lauran’s upcoming ‘Goober’ EP dropping this summer and does exactly what it is meant to do: stir the excitement pool. Holding promises of unlimited wit and anthemic rhythms galore, July 30th cannot come quick enough.
