Festival News: All Points East announced London Grammar plus more
All Points East continue to take over the August Bank Holiday weekend with another huge announcement this week - by adding London Grammar and Jorja Smith to their line up.
London Grammar, Jorja Smith plus many more will be taking over the opening Friday for the festival’s weekend, which already includes the likes of Jamie XX, Foals and Bombay Bicycle Club.
London Grammar’s epic show at All Points East comes just in time for their long- awaited new album Californian Soil, due to be released this April. It’s an exciting change of direction for the trio and vocalist Hannah Reid said the album deals with “themes of feminism and fame”. The singles ‘Baby It’s You’, ‘Lose Your Head’ and ‘How Does It Feel’ and the album title track have already blown fans away, which isn’t surprising given the unparalleled vocals of Reid, paired with the atmospheric electronics and subtle percussion by instrumentalists Dan Rothman and Dominic 'Dot' Major.
Grammy nominated artist Jorja Smith is one of the UK’s best singer/songwriters on the cusp of superstardom. Just five years on from the release of her debut single, Smith has already progressed from an R&B prodigy to an international name working with some of the world’s biggest artists, with her sunny R&B vocals on Drake’s ‘Get It Together’, Bruno Mars’s tour support, and Kendrick Lamar’s co-writer on ‘I Am’ from the Black Panther soundtrack.
Along with these two incredible announcements, also joining the Friday line up includes: LOYLE CARNER, CELESTE, MURA MASA , MAHALIA, DAPHNI, FLOATING POINTS, KOJEY RADICAL, LÅPSLEY, SONS OF KEMET, KELLY LEE OWENS, JADU HEART, ENNY, ELOISE, SAD NIGHT DYNAMITE.
This follows the latest APE line up announcements: Jamie xx and Kano (Saturday 28 August), APE presents Field Day with Bicep + more (Sunday 29 August) and Foals and Bombay Bicycle Club (Monday 30 August)
