Henjila – 'Paper Boy'

Bedroom pop newcomer Henjila shares her dreamy debut single ‘Paper Boy’.

To a bubbly backdrop of a gently-strummed ukulele and crystalline harmonies, Henjila’s vocals are soft and reassuring as she aims to soothe a heavy heart. “‘Paper Boy’ is about a girl who's in a relationship with a boy with severe insecurities and anxiety disorders,” she explains. “He is as fragile as paper. She struggles to help him and tries her best to uplift his low mental state, as well as making mistakes, learning new things and loving him. It is a song I wrote about my first love.”

Light like a summer breeze and just as heart-warming, ‘Paper Boy’ is a stunning first single that hints at the depth of Henjila’s songwriting skills. With a debut EP set for release this summer, Henjila promises to be an exciting new artist for fans of Alec Benjamin, Conan Grey or Samia.
