Matilda Mann – 'Doomsday'
Following last year’s EP ‘Because I Wanted You To Know’, singer songwriter Matilda Mann returns with rosy new single ‘Doomsday’.
‘Doomsday’ is an ode to the little things. To a gorgeous backdrop of sweeping guitars and layered harmonies, Matilda’s distinctive vocals feel velvety soft as she speaks gentle words of reassurance. “‘Doomsday’ was written in December in lockdown,” she explains. “During that time, we really had to cling onto the small things in life, and sometimes it just felt like it was never going to get better. So ‘Doomsday’ was written to help people feel that during the worst times, things are going to get better. We have each other and the small things that make life good.”
Bright and dreamy, ‘Doomsday’ is an organic extension of Matilda’s previous work. An artist who excels at crafting rose-coloured soundscapes that are as heartfelt as they are delicate, Matilda Mann could easily become a timeless classic.
