For those that hadn’t heard of Butterfly Ali before, his latest release ‘Testimony’ is the perfect introduction! The neo-soul and funk-inspired track brings a smile to our faces and a spring in our step.

The powerful and energetic sound of Butterfly Ali is uplifting and sounds like a bright summer’s day. His modern spin on neo-soul and classic funk is refreshing and comes with an equally energising video that showcases some grand choreographed moves. At the same time, vocalist and songwriter Titus Makin, better known as Butterfly Ali, is making it look like his crafting doesn’t cost him any effort at all. Titus made a name for himself as a renowned actor and shows that that’s not his only talent, he cranked up the expectations with previously released singles ‘Rose’ and ‘Pray For ‘Em’ and is living up to the expectations and beyond with ‘Testimony’.

The new single makes a bold statement about his influences, inspired by gospel sounds and his religious background, Butterfly Ali expresses his flamboyant persona in the form of sonic flavours and bright colours. Its message is just as bold and bright, “I wanted to write a song telling the devil that no matter how much he’s trying to quiet me and my call to share the love of God with people, I’m going to keep going. I wanted to write the song from the perspective of quieting the people who tell you that you’re unworthy or you’re incapable of something you desire to achieve. Proving them wrong by doing just that.”

Alongside the single, Butterfly Ali announced his debut EP ‘Preacher’s Kid’, which is out on the 11th of June and promises to be an R&B, soul and funk-filled piece of uplifting art!
