HYYTS - Blue & White

Glasgow duo HYYTS return with Blue & White, the second offering from their upcoming EP ‘helluvatime’ which is scheduled for release on June 4th.

The band’s signature summery vibes shone through on last single ‘Bad Tattoo’ and there’s no shortage of vitamin D on offer with ‘Blue & White’ either. While most of us are still miserable and on house arrest in our home country, the band transport you to a warmer climate with their breezy feel good beats which are sure to soundtrack a summer holiday. If not this year, then next year without fail.

With this track there’s sonic parallels to be found with hometown counterparts Prides and without intending this as a shade, elements of The Chainsmokers in terms of its commercialism and chart friendly production which adds gloss to its easy listening style.

The accompanying video takes aim at toxic masculinity and the weight it puts on mental health.         “Challenging gender norms has always been a big thing for us,” the band explain. “We wanted to make a really cool video and quash some gender norms along the way.”

With hype nicely ramping up for the band, and the backing of Warner Records to help motor them along, this latest release and the upcoming EP could well prove to be a defining moment in the duo’s journey, catapulting them into the limelight and into the eyes and ears of future festival goers and holidaymakers alike.
