London singer-songwriter Emma Bradley releases second single ‘Malibu’, an ode to the power of platonic love.

A new and sophisticated single has been released by Emma Bradley, together with the announcement of her upcoming EP ‘Perfumed By You’. ‘Malibu’ is soft as a feather and warm as the sun, with bright rays on Emma’s sharp vocals.

The songstress’ single comes with a lo-fi DIY video that showcases warm memories and shots of the sea. The 22-year old London-based singer songwriter has created a pensive and thought-provoking song that sung by any other voice would have become a soft background noise, but Emma wants you to listen. The simple lyrics get their edge from the haunting and ethereal piano-driven soundscape.

“‘Malibu’ is about my best friend, who is like a sister to me and means everything to me. It’s an ode to our friendship! I remember reading something that said ‘platonic love saves lives’ and it really resonated with me. I don’t think there are enough songs written about platonic love and how important / special it is. I wrote it at the beginning of lockdown when I couldn’t see her (or anyone for that matter). It’s super nostalgic as it reminisces on a day we spent in Malibu a couple of years ago, which is one of my favourite days of all time.”

‘Malibu’ sounds nostalgic and atmospheric and is startling from the beginning until the end. Our expectations for the self-taught musician’s upcoming EP are set high!
