Cardiff exciting new indie pop artist Natty Paynter introduces herself with catchy debut single "Hello, How Are You?".

Finding new and exciting talent that makes you want to commit and follow their career closely is incredibly rare. At the same time, with over 60k songs being uploaded every day to platforms like Spotify, it can be overwhelming and exhausting to capture the ears of listeners. However, somehow, great tracks and compelling stories manage to find their way to the light and that is exactly the case of singer/songwriter Natty Paynter’s debut single ‘Hello, How Are You?’.

The Cardiff-based promising young artist has a complex and inspiring life story, full of ups and downs which she has shared online throughout the last couple of years. By allowing people all over the world to accompany her through the journey of self-discovery via YouTube, Natty has managed to amassed a following that never ceases to be amused by her songwriting abilities and her tender vocal performances. For the community she created, the song is an overdue “hello” to an old friend and an emotionally charged re-introduction to Natty.

Co-written and produced by Danny Hall (FJ Law, Ines Rae, Lleo), the track features Natty’s distinctively smooth vocals against an electronically enhanced production that creates a mesmerizing and almost ethereal listening experience. With acoustic guitars and beautifully placed harmonies, the catchy hook will be stuck in people’s brains for ages.

Speaking of the track, Natty explains, “You know the feeling when you haven’t spoken to an old friend in so long, times have changed and you’ve both grown up? That’s what this song is about. It is a pop song with a happy nostalgic feel but if you delve deeper into the lyrics you understand that one of the friends is depressed. They make out like their life is great because they haven’t had a catch up in so long yet their friend sees right through it and wants them to know they are just a call away if they ever need to talk.”

Drawing from the influences of signwriting geniuses like Ed Sheeran and Alec Benjamin, Natty is able to experiment with music, concepts and emotions that portray her own experiences while having the peculiar ability of putting someone in her shoes. Owning her brand as a gutsy, bold indie-pop up-and-comer, this is the first of much more to come from this intriguing talent.
