Far Caspian - 'Sun Room’
Far Caspian achieve an air of vulnerability that not many can execute so perfectly in new single ‘Sun Room’.
Far Caspian is the project of the singer, producer and multi-instrumentalist Joel Johnston. The melancholy new track ‘Sun Room’ bears its focus on the lyricism. The lyrics are heart-felt and candid, with a central feeling of grief. The release centralises on Joel’s feelings of bereavement and anguish after devastatingly loosing family members. ‘Wishing that you were still around. Folded up in your own head. Waiting here for you to make a sound’.
The lyrics are accompanied by a beautiful piano backing. This simplistic choice of instrumentation truly aids to highlight the importance of the words. The dimensions of the track are heightened by the exquisite layering of harmonies which are prevalent throughout. Despite being overall uncomplicated and unadorned, the effortlessness adds an extensive amount of value and power to the release.
With over 400,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, an upcoming European tour and the release of a deluxe edition of his debut album ‘Ways To Get Out’(25th Feb), Far Caspian have a very promising and exciting year ahead.
