Festival News: End Of The Road announce final headliners Fleet Foxes, Bright Eyes and Khruangbin
Fleet Foxes, Bright Eyes, Khruangbin and many more join Pixies for End Of The Road 2022.
Back for its 16th year in the magical grounds of Lamer Tree Gardens, Dorset, End Of The Road Festival returns for another season-ending celebration of music. With the uphill struggle that came from putting on a festival in the midst of the ever-changing pandemic rules of last year, it’s great to see a lineup released with such confidence, and of course great content.
With revered alt-rockers Pixies already announced, the headline schedule is now complete with indie-folk heroes Fleet Foxes, and stateside 00’s staple Bright Eyes, along with psych-rock groove makers Khruangbin joining the party for Thursday night. Setting the precedent for wide-ranging, continent-spanning chill vibes and good times, New Zealand’s alt-popster Aldous Harding, Canadian folk band The Weather Station, and legendary Mali musicians Tinariwen are amongst the many names announced, along with a strong American showing with the likes of Perfume Genius, Kurt Vile & The Violators, and The Magnetic Fields. Closer to home, erratic favourites Black Midi, and current potential chart-toppers Yard Act make a return, while neo-soul South Londoner Greentea Peng joins the fold.
Brittney Denise Parks aka R&B violinist Sudan Archives, jazz multi-instrumentalist Nala Sinephro, and recent multi-faceted breakthrough Emma-Jean Thackray will bring their vast talents to the fields. Last year’s Piano Stage favourites Wu-Lu return, along with the seminal artists of End Of The Road’s own record label, The Golden Dregs and Modern Woman. There’s plenty of exciting noise to be heard and weirdness to be seen too with Lynks, Audiobooks, Dehd, and Circuit des Yeux. Meanwhile, true to form, the festival pioneers some of the latest names on the lips of new music fanatics: Priya Ragu, NewDad, Sinead O’Brien, The Lounge Society, Scalping, Los Bitchos, Keg, The Bug Club, Bingo Fury, Geese, M(H)AOL and many others all join the lineup.
With the amount of fun, discovery, and magic we found at last year’s festival, and with tickets already on their final release, we urge you not to sleep on this one. End Of The Road 2022 rounds off the summer on 1 - 4 September in Dorset.
