Jody and the Jerms - 'Heavenly'
Jody and the Jerms are bringing a slice of sunshine to the dark winter months with their newest release ‘Heavenly’.
The single shows a joyous sample of what their upcoming second album ‘Flicker’ is set to bring. With upbeat lyricism that focus on ‘reaching for the good times’, this is certainly a much needed message for many right now. ‘Heavenly’ is the perfect accompaniment for dancing round the kitchen in the morning, making the listener feel a sense of hope and positivity. The oxymoron that is posed between the idea that the track was written during a traffic jam over Henley Bridge and the purely optimistic vibes of the song is really quite interesting.
The instrumentals are reminiscent to the likes of The Bangles and The Corrs, a niche sound that few bands have tried to achieve. Jody and the Jerms however manage to execute perfectly the nostalgic and cheerful jangle pop and also meet this meet this with a modern twist. The single sounds deeply professional and the light and airy vocals are a breath of fresh air. It is almost impossible not to like Jody and the Jerms, especially If you are one you loves the power that music has to uplift you.
The band have a truly exciting year ahead, with a UK and Spain tour this Spring and Summer, this is for sure not one to miss! This tour also includes dates at some superb festivals including the IPO Festival, held at the Cavern Club in Liverpool and WeirFest in Somerset. Be prepared for Jodie and the Jerms to be the soundtrack for the summer.
