Tate McRae - 'chaotic'
Tate McRae struggles to control her life with 'chaotic'.
A triple threat and multi-platinum artist at just 18 years old, Canada's Tate McRae is setting herself up for a year of success with her third single, 'chaotic', off her debut album, dropping this spring. With her ground-breaking single 'you broke me first' streamed 1.4 billion times worldwide and a sold-out UK/Irish tour this June, McRae is glowing under the spotlight.
'chaotic' is a beautiful piano ballad, accompanied by soft percussion and deep, almost ominous, strings. McRae, fixated on her fear of growing up, painfully recognises that changing means a lack of control. From losing friends to a lover and even herself, McRae searches for comfort, something familiar.
The standout lyric from the chorus, 'Nobody said changing would be this exhausting', shows how difficult growing up is and how essential it is. With chaos and the future, it's inventible, but dealing with them brings you to the other side stronger. McRae is learning and shows her audience that no one is perfect, so mistakes are okay to make.
With luscious harmonies, her voice sweetly soars with a delicate descent, accompanied by only the piano, leaving everyone to accept and appreciate her honesty. With an incredible repertoire already, expect Tate McRae to be shining in the music industry for a while.
