Khazali – ‘HIGH HOPES’
Khazali explores how the journey to finding yourself is not always linear, in infectious new single ‘HIGH HOPES’.
After selling out his debut headline show and releasing his sophomore EP ‘The Rush’ earlier this year, London-based Khazali is a notable upcoming name within the music industry. With recognitions from The Line Of Best Fit, Notion, and The Independent, the singer-songwriter has already gained widespread support. Having previously released two singles in 2022, ‘Dance On The Rain’ and ‘Passion Controller’, ‘HIGH HOPES’ is Khazali’s latest record.
Written in November of last year, and mixed by INBLOOM (Oscar Jerome, Poppy Ajhuda, Fredwave), the track combines feel-good retro synths and catchy guitar riffs with steady drum beats. Despite the upbeat nature of the groove-laden record, undertones of self-doubt are evident throughout, as the indie-pop artist questions where he is currently in life, and where he would like to be. On the meaning behind the track, Khazali states:
“It's a bright and colourful tune which I wrote about letting go of what you need to let go of to become who you're meant to be, and the doubts that naturally come when you’re stepping into a new space.”
‘HIGH HOPES’ serves as the perfect summer anthem, and provides a promising taste of what’s to come from Khazali in the future.
