April returns with captivating new single ‘54321’.
Irish/London pop princess April brings us groovy upbeat sounds and electric waves in her latest song ‘54321’ This wonderful track follows on from her previous EP ‘When It Comes To You’ which was released at the beginning of the year and did extremely well for her.
April also announced her new mixtape STARLINE is set to be released in September which will showcase her talents as well as her continued development and experiments with pulse racing garage beats and sweet pop melodies. April emerged onto the scene in 2020 with her first two EPx ‘New Conditions’ and ‘Luna’ which helped gain her fans as well as support from BBC Radio 1 and NME, she also landed a spot at The Great Escape festival which shows that the youngsters career is just getting started and bigger things are to come for her soon.
April moved from her hometown in County Kildare in Ireland to the big bright city of London and this is what she bases her music around as she is experiencing both challenging and happy times in this new chapter as she explores a new era of an intense but thrilling time in her life which allows April to be free and independent. Her latest song ‘54321’ emphasises on countless days and nights of sightseeing in the city and settling into her new place and taking it all in.
‘54321’ is enthusiastic, wild and incredibly funky, I would also say this song has some sick beats that give off fun positive energy. This track is one you can bounce too during your time in the club or out in the sun as is full of sass, vibrance and crazy energy.
The music is April creates is also soulful and cheery as the message in the song is sure to lift peoples spirits as well as feel a mixture of feelings from hurt to joy. This tune is accelerating, exciting and adventurous which allows people to let loose and have a good time.
The vocals on the track are absolutely stunning as April goes from soft and smooth to more jaw dropping high notes that sound angelic with the accompanying palpating beats. Although the track at first is a slow burner that emphasis melancholic chilled harmonies it soon picks up the pace and is faster, rowdier and lively.
The song is catchy and infectious which is sure to leave fans wanting more, the lyrics are playful but are also honest and from the heart as she uses her own experiences mixed in with a bit of her easy-going witty personality. ‘54321’ is all about knowing what she wants from someone rather than being hopeless in love with someone who isn’t right for her. The song also elaborates on how much things have changed for April and moving away was difficult at first but by navigating her way through the new path she chose it helped her escape reality, shape new perspectives on life and learnt how to loving being herself again.
Finding yourself and understanding what you want out of life and having expectations of what sort of partner you want is the key to truly being happy because if you go for someone who has traits your not a fan of then it would be stupid of you to go with them just because you may be in love with, despite being in love is an amazing feeling in the past I have chose the wrong people because I was too wrapped up in my feelings but I soon woke up and realised I deserve better and someone who has qualities that are right for me, it may hurt to let a lover go but it’s important you pick the good ones to prevent even more pain in the future.
April’s music is fantastic and full of relaxing feel good vibes that instantly make you motivated to get up and live your best life and make lots of memories with the important people. I hope she makes more songs that are electric and exhilarating in the near future
