The Lemon Twigs - 'Corner Of My Eye'

The Lemon Twigs return with their newest single since 2020 with the soft, sixties-esque tune ‘Corner Of My Eye’.

This track has been floating around Youtube since early last year, when The Twigs started playing it at their live shows in the US, and have now officially released the track to their passionate fan base. Unbelievably talented brother duo Brian and Michael D’addario have been making music together since they were kids, and have so far released an EP and 3 studio albums, the most recent ‘Songs for the General Public’ released in 2020. The absence of new music has left fans itching for The Twigs return, and they have happily obliged.

‘Corner Of My Eye’ is a beautifully produced track, with the soft percussion lending itself perfectly to the delicate pluckings of the guitars, sounding like a track that could be recorded by the Mama’s and the Papa’s. The single was written and produced entirely by Brian and Michael and recorded in an old rehearsal studio in New York, where the brothers hail from, where the instrumental for the track was recorded live.

Older brother Brian takes lead vocals on the song, with the two usually swapping on different tracks. At their live shows Brian would sing lead vocals for one set with Michael on drums, and for their second set the two would swap, with Michael taking over lead vocals and Brian on drums. Brian’s beautifully soft vocals fits the tracks sixties vibe flawlessly, continuing to show his range and versatility, accompanied by angelic harmonies created by Michael - reminiscent of The Beach Boys or The Beatles, two bands who the brothers constantly express their major influence and adoration for. ‘Corner Of My Eye’ is also accompanied by an equally charming music video, set in a cemetery with a vintage gloss over the lens, directed by Hilla Eden and Brian D’addario.

With the release of the new single many are crossing their fingers for a fourth album, and with the band announcing a small tour of the US this March mere weeks ago, we might just get one. The brothers recently signed with Captured Tracks, hopefully meaning many more people will be lucky enough to discover the pure joy that is The Lemon Twigs, and their breathtaking talent.
