Glasgow based post-punk outfit Poster Club keeping churning out some right bangers - like with latest single college rock anthem ‘Shared Circumstances’. Blending together a mixture of SHAME, The Pale White and more - this track provides us with a taster of their upcoming ‘Deterioration Part II’ EP.
‘Shared Circumstances’ see the four-piece looking back subconsciously on formative teenage years and coming of age, which is reflected in the sound as energetic guitars become angsty and dissonant; and loose bouncy drums turn tight and aggressive.
Building on the catchy, pop sound of Deterioration Part I, Poster Club hit a more mature post punk nature to their sound with ‘Shared Circumstances’, with the tight, aggressive rhythms reminiscent of PUP, while the wobbly stoner rock sections could almost pass for early Modest Mouse.
The kind of album that rewards you more the closer you actually listen. It's the sound of an artist finally writing exactly the record he was always circling.
