Welcome to 2000trees 2024 announcement two: the spooky surprise. Today’s Halloween folks, and 2000trees have one hell of a treat in store. : the spooky surprise. Today’s Halloween folks, and 2000trees have one hell of a treat in store.

A few weeks ago came the announcement that the Thursday of 2000trees would be headlined by pivotal rock icons The Gaslight Anthem, whose fantastic sixth studio album ‘History Books’ has just come out. It was big. It was exciting. And… it didn’t really give much of an idea as to what the weekend would be like. Would it be heavy? Light? Soft? Hard? Or, hopefully, just right?

Well, today 2000trees have released their first wave of acts, with over 40 names joining the festival’s foresty fray — which (probably) isn’t a hint as to who the next headliner could be

Let’s start with the Wednesday. That’s the very important people line-up, after all! Playing in the coveted Forest stage on the musical entrée of the weekend comes the beautiful and brilliant Blackpool band Boston Manor; Scottish darlings The Xcerts; the ‘00s nostalgia outfit The 900; the fantastic returning favourites of Dead Pony; Irish noise-punk pundits Enola Gay, the ferociously fun Lambrini Girls; the rock-hip-hop outfit of Carsick; the folk-punk heroes Pet Needs; the fun fivesome of Kite Thief; the slow, acerbic Exit Child; and, finally, the indie supergroup-of-sorts Unpeople, who made their live debut at this year’s iteration.

But that’s just the Wednesday — what about the rest of the weekend? Well, the rest of the weekend is pretty damn good too. First off, Manchester Orchestra — with vocalist Andy Hull and guitarist Robert McDowell handily selling out three nights at the iconic Union Chapel a few weeks ago, seeing them with a full band at their 2000trees debut will be nothing short of a delight. And acoustic Forest set? You never know! There’s also Kids In Glass Houses, who just reunited recently for their celebratory ‘Smart Casual’ anniversary tour, after a triumph Slam Dunk 2023 reunion show and a brilliant tour, along with both brilliant pop-punk pundits of Hot Mulligan, also making their 2000trees debut, and the superb Canadian duo of Cleopatrick, sure to bring the NRM delights to the Cheltenham stages once again. There’s Better Lovers, whose heavy riffs are sure to delight the crowd (and annoy the neighbours!); the phenomenal Liverpudlians of The Mysterines; the crazed fun of Dune Rats; the catchy, anthemic brilliance of The Pale White; the experimentally (and trend-setting) excellence of Clt Drp; and just a hell of a lot more.

Basically, 2000trees 2024 has already blown last year’s out of the water. With more 4-day and VIP tickets being released on Friday, single day/evening ticket’s available now, and more than 60% of tickets ALREADY snapped up, it’s set to be a hell of a sell out. Get on it while you can!
