The Home Team - 'Loud'

Experimenting with their sound sonically, Seattle’s The Home Team have created a leading single that takes a moment to celebrate throwing yourself into the deep end and getting out of your comfort zone.

The Home Team released their latest single ‘Loud’ on December 1st, ahead of supporting The Used on their UK tour this month, alongside Honey Revenge.

Seattle-hailing The Home Team blend together pop-punk and metal influences in their tracks, along with sprinkling in pop and funk influences in as well, to create a special heavy-pop sound that is so distinctly The Home Team. The band’s ability to create a sound for themselves that is so unique to the quartet, has earned them an ever-growing fan base, and has also seen them share stages with bands such as Don Broco, Senses Fail and Real Friends.

Frontman, Brian Butcher explained that “beyond the obviously sexual subject matter of the song, ‘Loud’ is about finding your confidence in giving 110% to things that may be outside of your immediate comfort zone.” Celebrating the moments where we completely throw ourselves into the deep end, particularly when it comes to something we may not usually do for all kinds of different reasons, is so important – it proves to ourselves we can do the things we thought we were incapable of, and may even give us the confidence to attempt other things we are yet to do.

Additionally on the topic of the newest single, Brian explained that “it’s definitely a bit of a curveball genre wise for us, which is why we wanted to release it before any other singles from our new album. There will be more familiar songs as well, but we feel like ‘Loud’ is such a statement for how we want to write music going forward, and we feel so strongly about it, that it would be a shame not to lead with it.” Seeing a band experiment with their sound and style is always exciting to watch, and being able to play with their sound sonically is so important for any band. It'll be interesting to hear what the rest of the album sounds like once it’s released, as well as seeing the influences that made The Home Team release ‘Loud’ as the leading single.

The Home team have quickly become staples within the scene, and it is easy to see why, and they certainly have the sticking power behind them to remain firm favourites. Whatever comes next from them in terms of their new album, and perhaps even beyond that, is sure to pack a punch and we can’t wait to hear it!
