Joseph Lawrence - 'BeGod'
Joseph Lawrence released his new track “BeGod” this week, a hugely powerful record that is guaranteed to captivate listeners of any genre.
The religious imagery in the lyrics is supported by the tune's genius sonic narrative. This genre-bending tune starts off as a haunting hymnal, with his smooth deep and masterful lead vocals overlaid by a choral backing. The track then builds its ghostly atmosphere up to the hugely dynamic chorus, where Joseph showcases his exquisite vocals which come with great power and control. His vocals are immense, full stop.
The energy and pure force of this track are to be reckoned with, it’s ever-moving, interesting and full of lyrical genius. In the chorus, he desperately asks over and over “What if I become a God?” In his own words, Joseph Lawrence expresses that this track “asks the question of how far my own self-belief will take me and wonders what happens if I go too far”.
The track was released alongside a live performance video which brings light to Lawrence's intricate stagecraft and again, immense power within his vocals. Taking centre stage and lit up in a red spotlight the intense performance truly shows that Joseph Lawrence commands the stage and his vocals with the utmost complexity.
This single follows his previous work, ‘“Tomorrow” and “Empty House” and with more music on the way, be sure to stay tuned as Joseph Lawerence begins to construct his passionate and powerful musical empire.
