Fake A Smile - 'Prom Dress'
Cool new Bournemouth trio Fake A Smile introduces debut single Prom Dress.
If you're looking for a song that will get you excited for the change in weather to come, Prom Dress is a great pick. This track exudes the indie laidback coolness that comes with driving around, roof down, on a summer's day.
Fake A Smile consists of band members Jamie Kravos, Luca Ellison and Ryan Poole, who are unleashing their unique sound onto the indie scene. Prom Dress embodies all that is indie, full of crunchy textured guitars, an addictive drum beat and a catchy melody that will take days to get out of your head.
This track was produced by Mercury Award-winning producer Gianluca Buccellati after a serendipitous meeting in a central London hotel in 2021.
The band explains “We wanted to create a body of work that introduced listeners to our core sound. Prom Dress came together after a conversation we had about staying present and not getting too hung up on the past. We worked with producer Gianluca Buccellati (Arlo Parks, Biig Piig, White China) in LA to refine our sound and solidify what we wanted to say as a band.”
After this meeting that was obviously written in the stars, the band quit their jobs and jetted off to LA to create their debut EP.
As Fake A Smile continues to release tracks from their debut album Shoot Me To The Moon, I recommend that fans of this track keep their ears peeled. This band is just getting started.
