Swim School - 'Don't Leave Me Behind'
Edinburgh trio Swim School continue to deliver with the latest single ‘Don’t Leave Me Behind’, which precedes the group’s new EP ‘Duality’.
Due for release on May 25th, the group’s new EP promises to be something special, with the band demonstrating their multitude of talents in the singles released ahead of the fact. From the pumped up, aggressive ‘Delirious’ to the equally brilliant yet different ‘Don’t Leave Me Behind’.
The track itself is so lyrically relatable for listeners all over. The stark and simple words of the chorus repeat the title, quite simply saying: “Don’t leave me behind”. The track has this feel of real sincerity, particularly through these words.
Musically, the track is superb. The trio demonstrate once again just how tight of an outfit they really are. They perfectly build up the track in the places where this needs to happen. The opening, for instance, brilliantly brings in the lead vocals, where listeners will become fixed on the lyrics, before the track once again erupts into a beautiful array of sounds.
As coined by the NME, Swim School brilliantly execute ‘luminous indie-pop’ in the latest single, with the classic indie sounds as well as some highly skilled electronic sounds.
Coming off the back of a run of sold-out shows with Pixies and Lovejoy, the Edinburgh trio continue to go from strength-to-strength, and they show no signs of letting up; leaving fans eager for the release of their new EP.
The second EP ‘Duality’ is set to be huge for the group, and the tracks released ahead of it are simply brilliant. Following the EP release, the group have announced a London headline show for May 30th, which will be the perfect opportunity for fans (new and old) to hear the new tracks.
