Caity Baser - 'Leave Me Alone'

Bringing refreshing and vibrant energy to pop music, rising star Caity Baser returns with her latest brutally honest pop anthem ‘Leave Me Alone’.

Baser’s no-holding-back approach to songwriting initially gained her traction on TikTok, with her original song ‘Average Student’ making waves on the app in 2020. From there, the 21-year-old quickly established herself as one of the most promising upcoming artists, as many compared her sound to that of ‘00s pop icons including Lily Allen and Kate Nash.

Latest single ‘Leave Me Alone’ continues to showcase Baser as one of the most exciting names in pop, placing her signature relatable lyricism and catchy melodies at its forefront. The defiant anthem is the ultimate expression of independence, as the Brighton-based star unapologetically describes being over her ex’s antics and moving on with her life.

From mixed signals to wasting time on people who don’t deserve you, Baser cites all of the relationship struggles that she vows to no longer put up with as she enters her ‘Leave Me Alone Era’. This message seemed to immediately resonate with fans, as the single became a crowd favourite when it was debuted on her recent tour, alongside teaser clips going viral across social media.

Filled with dainty piano melodies and whistle tones, the track’s playful production seems to be in complete contrast to its uncompromising lyricism. As with almost all of Baser’s work, the track emits an infectiously uplifting energy which is guaranteed to boost the mood in any room.

The accompanying music video is just as attention-grabbing as the track itself. Directed by Caity’s longtime collaborator, Callaway Breeze, the video references several iconic films including Romeo and Juliet, Lady & The Tramp, and Love Actually, as Caity repeatedly rejects a persistent love interest.

‘Leave Me Alone’ adds yet another credit to Baser’s success in 2023. The track follows the breakthrough star’s former single ‘Pretty Boys’, taken from her 6-track long EP ‘Thanks For Nothing, See You Never’, which secured Baser her first entry into the UK Official Singles Chart Top 40. Alongside her solo work, Baser has collaborated with Sigala on euphoric track ‘Feels This Good’ and Joel Corry on party anthem ‘Dance Around It’.

With her personality-infused pop already taking the charts by storm, it looks like Caity Baser is well on her way to being one of the biggest pop stars of this generation.
